Mr. President, you hit the nail on the right head with the exception of Mr. Hubane.
I am a Somaliland political therapist and a freelance writer who is driving an Itinerant – Truck which is run by Robotic Intelligence and at the same time acting as a Simian Side – kicker that splashes the ditch – dirt at the corrupted politicians who misuses the Tax – Payer’s money and swallow more than they can chew. I represent the silent majority and the vulnerable walking Dead lay – men on the street. Although freelance writing job is neither a good source of financial income nor pleases the Self – Esteem of my Ego. Yet it gives me the chance of meeting new people, increases my circle of acquaintance and gives me the opportunity to work with the other side of my brain; the darker and murkier side. Digging deep and keep peeling the onion and the tomatoes in the Sandwiches of the big tugs and those with the mighty muscles in Somaliland. Trying my best to teach the younger generation to take a genuine pride in a job well done and not expected praise for one simply carried out. Blessed is he who has learned to admire but not envy, to follow but not imitate, to praise but not flatter, and to lead but not manipulate. The trouble with most of us is that we had rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism. There are two things Somalilanders want more than Sex and Money. Recognition and Praise. Praise is the bridge that carries over. Always filter every bit of criticism and praise that was set in between two layers of Sandwiches which is the by – product of kickbacks. Remember! you do ill if you praise or flatter like some freelance writers who claim that they are impartial and yet telling the unborn generation that the Main – Base of the SNM Armed Struggle was the Almis Mountain. What a disgusting ill shame! Remember to err is a human, and as a human being some slip of tongue may occur but I never do it intentionally. I drive my roller with an impartial driving – wheel. The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism. Dear reader, Shallow men believe in tribalism and nepotism, strong men believe in toil and sweat; and in cause and effect.
Lucky is the one who misses the wrong – train. Because it is impossible to make your own luck when you don’t have the ingredient. Don’t wish for luck, work for it. Because luck hides behind sweat and toil. Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity. Good luck is when opportunity meets preparation, while bad luck is when lack of preparation meets reality. Dear reader, life’s tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late. There are two great days in a person’s life. The day we are born and the day we discover why we were born. Mr. President, as Somalilanders, our mission in life is not merely to survive; but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style. The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. Because life is a crazy, and nothing is guaranteed. I am not here to write my humble script in order to congratulate because I am one of those who voted against you. But I am here to say my humble, but sincere prayers and wish you to succeed in accomplishing successfully this hard task that you have been assigned to. In a country where all institutions and facilities has been totally destroyed and out of services. Morally, economically, socially, educationally and physically. Even the people has been transformed and transfixed with horror. In which we have started everything back from the scratch. All that I can say, you are an army of one man, getting in a War with a whole nation. According to my perception, you are in the same position of Prophet Moses and his brother Aaron when they were sent to Egypt to confront the Pharaoh and the Israelites to worship Allah. I am deadly sure that you already made your mind and you are honest to your Cause; but you are without miracles. At this age and time Somalilanders sailing in the same boat with the exception the Israelites were worshiping the Pharaoh and the Somalilanders are worshiping , The Mother In Law From Hell ( Tribalism ). We are forty Eight years in Darkness but they were better than us because they were only forty years in Darkness and betray.
Dear reader, Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. I am not a chauvinist who is against women; Beause I am an Octogenarian who is born and raised by a hard working single – mother that used to burn the candle at both ends. Goes to bed lately, and gets up early in the morning.
Wearing the chastity – belt and strictly believes in the moral values. She taught me all that I know. She taught me chivalry, knighthood, and how to respect and deal with others. She taught me that trust is the glue of life and it is the foundational principle that holds all relationship. And it is the most essential ingredient in effective communication. She taught me that good life is one inspired by love and guided by knowledge. She taught me that the purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life, off our soul. I am going in all these details to prove you that I am not bias or feeling prejudice against women. Mr. President, With all my sincerity and humble respect; let me tell you in black and white that the previous regime of the Lame – Duck was collapsed due to the leadership of women and due to the greed and tribal ambition of it’s cabinet. As well as hiring some dropout Diaspora like me who has failed to look after his four kids and their mother; but instead, assigned to run the affairs of a failed State. That is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Mr. President, I totally agree with your wise judgment to dispatch off and fire all those bad apples that were nominated by the late Lame – Duck with the exception of Mr. Abdillahi Hubane, the Minister of Education. Mr. President, let me tell you in a voice that can’t be ignored. That since the Era of the deceased President Egaal there were about six Ministers that were nominated for the Ministry of Education. Mr. Daher Kahin Yusuf and Abdillahi Hubane are the only two ministers that have done a tangible contribution. Mr. President, as a father with the Teaching Field background. I get upset and mad, and almost to faint when I see the silly, misleading and technical mistakes they did to the School’s Syllabus and Curriculum. They were spreading disease; not education. Mr. President, let me tell you in a hurry – up short brief the fruitful initiatives that Mr. Abdillahi Hubane did during his short period in office:-
1) Preparing a controlled, restricted and centralized Exams for the Secondary and Primary Schools. 2) Establishing a watch – dog and the follow up of working School Hours. 3) A Unified Curriculum and Syllabus for both Private and Public Secondary Schools. 4)Illegalizing and controlling the corrupted transfers of students from Primary to Secondary Schools.
5) Monopoly and reserving some posts and Schools for certain personalities as a sign of nepotism. Plus other several fruitful measures that were skipped out of my mind at the present.
Mr. President, the first time the smoking cigarettes with filter were introduced in Somaliland. Customers from Burao used to cut the filter out of the piece of cigarettes that they were smoking. And when they were asked. They replied that there is something in between their lips and the cigarettes, which they don’t appreciate. I mean by that, to disregard all Sultans, Chiefs, Intellectuals, because they represent nobody except their pocket and stomach.
Mr. Suleiman Mohamed Adan the Chairman of the Traditional Leaders, Somaliand is not an Isaaq Land. But it is a Land composed and owned by many ethnic groups that shares equal rights, and values the same sacred culture, ethics, traditions, language and the same religion for centuries. Our uniqueness, our individuality, and our life experience molds us into a unique and fascinating being. I hope we all respect and embrace that uniqueness that other Somali tribes don’t share us.
I pray, we may all challenge ourselves to search into the deepest resources of our hearts to cultivate an atmosphere of tolerance , understanding, acceptance and compassion. Then we will ultimately fully understand that our holy Islam and sacred culture that we inherited from our forefathers teaches us that tolerance, not hatred, universal brotherhood, not enmity; peace and not violence, kindness, tolerance , integrity, modesty, and generosity. These are the attributes that always bond us together after every dilemma or alternative difficult choice that we encounter with; due to fate. These are the holy attributes that events permit us totally to behave and sort out our difference totally in a different fashion and style that differs than the Evil – Empire in Mogadishu. These are our holiday moods, and we are as proud of them as of the fine clothes we have hung away to wear on occasions, from LOOYO CADDE to CEELAAYO. Mr. Suleiman, the deceased Leader of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Egaal in his life – span, cats never acted as Lions. During his Era, you and your Lame – Duck cousin never acted as lions. Your late unexpected remarks to Khaatumo Treaty or Deal is absolutely an insult and strange to hear. Mr.Cali Khaliif is not asking charity donation from any one.
He and his colleagues will seize their Piece of the Big Pie by hook or by crook. You will always be politically broke if you underestimate some of your electorates. I don’t believe in luck; that is why I let black cats cross my path before facing any challenge. It takes only a moment for the destiny to flip over. Chance is when you look at the World through humanity’s eyes; providence is when you look at the World through God’s eyes. Thinking is one thing that no one has ever been able to tax. Abraham Lincoln said once, ” If this is Coffee , please bring me some tea; but if this is Tea , please bring some Coffee. Bear in mind that corrosive hatred of a person’s wisdom and conscience, and your poor mentality of disregard can poison a Nation’s Spirit. Will instigate and will result as a consequence of a brutal life and death struggles. Will destroy our Society’s tolerance and humanity. More severely will block a Nation’s progress towards freedom and democracy. Remember , a man on a date wonders if he will get lucky but the woman already knows. Your competition is not other people but the time you kill, the Ill – Will you create, the knowledge you neglect to learn and the connection you failed to build. The health we sacrificed along the path, your inability to generate ideas, and the people who were around you but don’t support you, and whatever God you cursed for your bad luck. Will result the doom and gloom of Somaliland and will lead us into a War of a no man’s win. Mr. Suleiman, I have already learned by watching the foot print of your negotiation in problem – solving . That raising children is the most difficult assignment in the World to do. It needs a lot of hard work and a lot of energy. It may cause circumstances of heart – breaking events, and may result loss of love and trust. At the same time, it is the most rewarding experience that you can ever have. Bear in mind that luck is not a chance, it is a toil; and fortune’s expensive smile that is earned, can be obtained by hard work. But with luck alone on your side, don’t expect you can achieve anything without brains. God does not pay Dice with the Universe. Echo of misfortune you encounter today, will carry in it the seeds of tomorrow ‘s good luck. A little Government and a little luck is necessary in life; but only a fool trusts either. I have to remind you again that a man on a date wonders if he will get lucky but the woman already knows.
Mr.Suleiman, William Shakespeare said, fortune brings in some boats that are not steered by, and that is how you obtained the Traditional House Chairman by coming through the window, not by the door. But the secret behind it is how you will sustain the role – model. The lack of forgiveness and gratitude leads to unhappiness. You can’t be passionate for peace and be crippled by ingratitude. Mr. Suleiman, life is too short to be vengeful or malicious. Adopt the pace of nature; her secret is patience. Patience is bitter, but it’s fruit is sweet.
Mr. Cali Galeedh, I am not a member of any recognized Political Party, but I am a democrat and a serious Somalilander. I am not a smart, I pay attention. I don’t wish for luck, but I work for it. I believe that luck hides behind sweat and toil. If you push your luck of today too hard, fortune’s muscles might tear. Breaking a closed door is more quicker than waiting for someone to answer it. The loveliest Gifts sometimes come wrapped in the ugliest paper. Love is the luckiest tenant in the World; and you and your people are rent – free in our hearts as far as you are genuine believers in the Sovereignty of Somaliland. Good – Luck is when opportunity meets preparation. Mr. Cali, you bet on the wrong horse but I admit openly that I can’t sustain life without you. Come down to earth. Ingratitude is a crime more despicable than revenge and it is returning evil for good. It is a horrible disease that belongs to the callous and stony hearted people. It poisons the Soul and remorse is part of the diagnosis . Mr.Cali, beginning an arduous for a new Bride from Mogadishu and trying to decipher our tangled past that was prepared before we had born; will be more fatiguing and stressful than re – establishing our broken love and relationship with your old darling Second – Hand Lady. Because according to our sacred culture as Somalilanders. A Government that robs Mr. Peter to pay Mr. Paul can always depend on the support of Mr. Paul. Secondly, when you courting a nice beautiful girl, an hour seems like a second. While when you sit on a red – hot – cinder a second seems like an hour. Of course, that is relativity.
Mr. Cali, Good bye with a Ring And A Kiss.
We Love you more than we can say.
Yusuf Deyr, Hargeisa Somaliland, The Oasis Of Peace
