“The Country Expects Much from its Youths Especially during this Election Period”

Hargeisa(Horn)- The youths are the future leaders of this country thence should start getting involved in its affairs at an early stage.

This was stated by the  former Somaliland Vice President Abdirahman Aw Ali Farah during events commemorating  youth international day 2017 in Hargeisa

Stressing on the importance of youths dabbling at various issues pertinent to the well being of the country they one day shall manage, Mujahid Abdirahman who was the 2nd VP of Somaliland also urged apt conduct as pertained ongoing political events.

Said he “As we approach campaigns for presidential elections slated for November this year, I take his opportunity at your international day, to urge our youths act in manners that distance them from destructive politics.

Giving an example of the divisive political status prevalent in the country, the former VP said “imagine being unable to solve the speaker of parliament elections dispute” adding that the saga in the august house revolves around who got 39 and 38 votes between MP Bashe and MP Talyanle who aspire to replace resigned Irro.

In conclusion Muj Abdirahman Aw Ali Farah who prayed for a peaceful and successfully conclusion to the house speaker’s dispute, devoid of clannish,  went on to tell Somaliland youths to take the ongoing saga at the legislature as a starting point of their full and active participation on  national affairs.

Similar sentiments were expressed by the function’s guest of ho our VP Abdirahman Abdillahi Sayli, who stressed on the imperatives of Somaliland youths shunning away from tribalism as a prelude to be productive.
